Mold Damage in a Burnsville Basement
The sump pump system in this Burnsville basement when clogged could not eliminate the standing water in this utility closet. The moisture allowed for the propagation of large mold colonies. Our Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians assessed the situation and sealed the basement from the upstairs of the home to reduce the chance of cross-contamination. We stripped down the non-salvageable drywall and sprayed an antifungal agent to kill remaining fungi and spores. The drain area was cleared to allow for proper pumping and draining if future flooding occurred. We suggested to the homeowner to purchase a permanent dehumidifier to maintain an acceptable RH, relative humidity, level and thus help to prevent future mold infestations.
